Summary

NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology Specialist located in the Office of Information Resource Management (OIRM), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). OIRM is responsible for planning, developing, communicating, and coordinating NEH’s information systems management activities.

Duties

  • Plan, design, develop, and maintain enterprise software solutions used by a multi-agency partnership and their stakeholders.
  • Develop software applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework or .NET Core and the C# programming language.
  • Deploy, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted web applications and cloud resources using Microsoft Azure.
  • Build, monitor, and manage web applications in Microsoft Azure to meet cybersecurity and compliance standards including authentication and authorization.
  • Develop software in a team environment using agile development practices, versioning, source control, and code review.
  • Develop efficient database solutions to support software applications and ensure agency data integrity using Microsoft SQL Server or similar Microsoft database solutions.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to provide customer support, system documentation, and technical solutions.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

At the GS-13 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) designing, developing, and managing cloud-hosted web applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework or .NET Core and C# to meet enterprise and government-wide requirements; (2) database management including monitoring, profiling, logging, and querying using Microsoft database products like Microsoft SQL Server; (3) assessing and applying cybersecurity principles to software and database applications; (4) providing customer support for software; (5) communicating with individuals or groups clearly and effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial)

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Your application will be evaluated and rated under the Category Rating and Selection Procedures.
