Job Title: Employability Trainer
Salary: £29,000
Location: Covering our Lewisham and Lambeth sites
The role of Employability Trainer is pivotal in supporting participants who have been out of work for at least 12 months to find sustainable employment.
Overview:
As an Employability Trainer, you’ll play a dynamic role where no two days are the same. Your focus will be on delivering Employability support to groups of participants, guiding and challenging them appropriately to move towards lasting and meaningful employment. This includes imparting essential skills such as CV writing, interview techniques, confidence-building, and other key aspects.
Responsibilities:
- Run group training sessions on vital Employability skills, adapting content to participants’ needs.
- Respond effectively to challenges as they arise throughout the day.
- Build positive relationships with participants, collaboratively identifying and overcoming potential barriers to employment.
- Work collaboratively with the team to support your caseload into sustainable employment.
- Provide job search support, guiding participants to register on appropriate job boards and ensuring their digital profiles are updated and visible to employers.
- Assist participants in preparing for job interviews and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Meet monthly performance targets and Key Performance Indicators, accurately forecasting planned job starts each month.
- Add value to the overall participant journey by delivering employability skill interventions, such as interviewing, CV creation, job searching, and building resilience.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering effective courses, workshops, and training.
- Experience working with IT and Office software.
- Knowledge of the local labor market.
- Effective networking skills to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
- Adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence, and listen to others.
- Training or Coaching qualification.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience within Employability or Recruitment.
- Experience in a fast-paced, performance target-driven environment.
- Professional and effective communication using various platforms.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage your own diary effectively.
